Seegee Bachtel Aurora CoachSeegee Bachtel, track coach, Aurora, goes above and beyond to provide a champion producing program for the small school. Under her direction the track team has continued to grow. Many of her athletes go on to be top high school runners. This year she created a track area for the school with a shot-put-pit, long jump pit, and a high jump. She arranged all of this through community donations. She instills hard work, integrity, and respect in her student athletes.

Heather Parks Bruceton CoachHeather Parks, cross country and track, Bruceton, maintains an excellent program and pushes her runners to succeed both on and off the track. She is an excellent teacher of the sport and stresses fundamentals to her runners. She is the type of coach that athletes love to hate. She pushes them to new limits. While she can be a demanding coach, she also makes running fun for her athletes. Coach Parks serves as a role model for students.

Brad Reed PHS Coach Brad Reed, wrestling coach, Preston High, currently has the most successful and fastest growing male sports program at PHS. Coach Reed has developed many students to not only be better athletes but better people throughout his coaching career. Over the past few years, he has led his team to top three finishes at the Big X Conference Championship, mentored various WVSSAC State Qualifiers, and helped multiple athletes earn All-State honors and placement at the WVSSAC State Tournament.

Kayla Ringer TAEP Coach Kayla Ringer, volleyball coach, TAEP, has had back-to-back appearances in the county championship game, and has made it there 3 out of her 4 years coaching. She built the program from the ground up and built upon turning players with no experience into a championship caliber team. She does this through mentorship and coaching both on and off the court.

Angel Stull South Preston Coach Angel Stull, volleyball and basketball cheerleading coach, South Preston, has been a coach for five years and works tirelessly for her athletes. She promotes teamwork, hard work, determination, and dedication. She consistently researches best practices and strategies to help her teams improve their performance. She is well-respected by athletes, school administrators, and families. She goes above and beyond expected duties and expected time requirements. Her athletes have outstanding sportsmanship and are often complimented by other coaches.

Mike Tortolon Mike Tortolon, track coach, West Preston, has an exceptional rapport with his student athletes. He utilizes team and relationship building to effectively motivate the students to perform to the best of their abilities. He currently has two students that hold school records on his track team.

Lisa Weaver CPMS Coach Lisa Weaver, track and field head coach, CPMS, is of the the busiest coaches in Preston County. In the fall, she is a volunteer assistant coach for both cross country and volleyball. In the spring, she is the head coach of CPMS boys and girls track and field teams. It is not a coincidence that five of these sports (girls cross country 2023, varsity volleyball 2023, JV volleyball 2023, boys track and field 2023, and girls track and field 2023) won county championships. All of these teams were also very competitive at the local and state level.
