She comes in early to ensure her work gets done even if she’s taken the day off. She volunteers to help with tasks and special events. She treats every student with respect and often has positive comments for staff and students. Her commitment to the quality of the lunches served is commendable.

Karen Bolyard, ECCAT Aide FESKaren Bolyard, ECCAT Aide at Fellowsville Elementary, in the position for 1 year with 14 years in PCS, has been very inspirational at FES. She is supportive of staff and students. Volunteers to help any way she can and is firm but loving with all students. The students respect her, and she is a part of the FES School Family.

Kim Delsignore, secretary, Rowlesburg Kimberly Delsignore, secretary, Rowlesburg School, in the position for 2 years, inspires others through her kind and caring disposition. She genuinely cares for the students and takes the time to get to know them individually. She inspires others to be kind and considerate and is always willing to help those in need. She goes above and beyond and makes extra efforts to ensure the operations of Rowlesburg School are efficient and effective.

Sharon Ely, ECCAT Aide, TAEP Sharon Ely, ECCAT Aide at Terra Alta East Preston, in the position for 10+ years, is the epitome of hard work, rarely taking a day off. She never complains and always seems to be able to connect with and help even the most difficult of students. She’s one of the first people in the building each morning and if she’s not there you can see the impact it has on the students – they miss her.

Jeannie Gibson, head cook, West Preston Jeannie Gibson, head cook at West Preston, in the position for one year and nine years total as a cook. She is highly respected and admired by students, parents, and staff. Students appreciate the delicious and nutritious meals she prepares and often form special bonds with her as their cook. She has daily interactions with the students providing guidance and direction and serving as a role model for others. She is always willing to do whatever she can to support others and the school as a whole.

Rebecca Hershman, secretary, South Preston School Rebecca Hershman, secretary at South Preston School, in the position for 10 years, inspires others through her dedication to her position; her love of and care for the students of South Preston; and the joy she finds in her work. She knows every student and, if she doesn’t, she goes out of her way to get to know them. She demonstrates responsibility, efficiency, and effectiveness. She also inspires everyone to be more empathetic, more responsible, and more prepared.

Victoria Johnson, head cook, CPMS Victoria Johnson, head cook at CPMS, in the position for 16 years, believes we should never let anyone walk alone in the journey of middle school. She remembers what it was like to be a middle school student and the challenges that brings. She believes in treating everyone as her own children/family and demonstrating kindness and respect and to work together as a team.

Scott McCabe, bus driver Scott McCabe, bus driver, in the position 2 years, leads by example in voluntarily doing whatever is necessary to problem solve. He is admired by co-workers, students, and parents for his dedication. As a military veteran his discipline and problem solving skills are invaluable to his department.

Loria Moats, ECCAT Aide, KES Loria Moats, ECCAT Aide at KES, in the position for 1-year approaches situations with a cool head and calm demeanor. Even when faced with challenging behavior, she doesn’t lose her composure. She is kind and caring to everyone she encounters and goes above and beyond to make students feel valued and special. Her dedication is unmatched, and she is a valuable asset to the classroom, the school, and the community.

Marijke Schnopp, Special education aide, Bruceton School Marijke Schnopp, Special Education Aide at Bruceton, in the position 3 years, she is inspiring to others through deep thoughts, motivational speaking, and simply by example. She demonstrates a passion for students and the building she works in and continually strives to foster a positive environment not only in the class, but in the entire school. She prides herself on building foundations of trust, support, and dedication and believes the only way to accomplish strong foundations is through fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Autumn Sheets, executive secretary, PCS Autumn Sheets, executive secretary for the central office, serving PCS for 24 years, she inspires others through her positive attitude, her strong work ethic, and her willingness to help others and take on any and all tasks assigned. She is thorough, professional, and timely. She is a problem solver and a leader. Her work is key to the smooth operation of the personnel office for Preston County Schools.

Will Strawser, custodian, PHS William Strawser, custodian, Preston High School, serving PHS for many years, he is faithful to his job – showing up every day, and going above and beyond and enjoys serving PHS. He is liked by all of the staff and is always willing to help. The areas he oversees are well maintained. He tries to do his best with the time and resources he has.
